Abstract

In September 2024, the level of inequality in population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.259. This figure decreased by 0.005 points when compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.245; down compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.258.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.265; down compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.273.
Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of expenditure for the bottom 40 percent of the population was 24.26 percent in September 2024. This means that population expenditure is still in the low inequality category. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 25.70 percent and in rural areas it was recorded at 24.27 percent, which means it is included in the low inequality category.
