North Kalimantan Economy Q3-2024: 2.10 Percent (Q-to-Q); 4.29 Percent (Y-on-Y); 4.54 Percent (C-to-C)

Abstract

The economy of North Kalimantan in the third quarter of 2024, measured based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 37.09 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 18.42 trillion.
The economy of North Kalimantan in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2024 experienced a growth of 2.10 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement business sector at 9.43 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Export of Goods and Services Component which experienced a growth of 1.53 percent.
The economy of North Kalimantan in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2023 experienced a growth of 4.29 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Accommodation and Food and Beverage Provision business sector at 13.70 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Consumption Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households at 7.78 percent.
Up to the third quarter of 2024, the economy of North Kalimantan experienced growth of 4.54 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by growth in all business categories, where the highest was achieved by the Accommodation and Food and Beverage Provision business sector at 11.16 percent. From the Expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Consumption Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households at 10.26 percent.
Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island region in the third quarter of 2024 was dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 47.03 percent and the smallest was North Kalimantan Province at 8.17 percent. In addition to having the largest role, the economic performance of East Kalimantan Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 5.52 percent (y-on-y).
